The EHS Director will report to the VP of EHS and can be located in Salt Lake City, UT, Decatur, AL or Casa Grande, AZ.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering; Master’s Degree preferred in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Physical Science, or Engineering. Additional education in Business Management, Finance, or Law is preferred.
  • Professional Certification(s): CIH, CSP, CRSP, PE, P.Eng., ROH, or demonstrated equivalent expertise.
  • 10+ years EHS experience in chemical, manufacturing or associated industry required.
  • Proven experience driving EHS programs across multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leadership, navigate regulatory complexity, and elevate EHS performance across diverse, high‑risk operations.
  • This position is restricted to U.S. citizens due to U.S. government contract regulations that require the employment of only persons who are U.S. citizens.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction on all aspects of EHS through global or regional organizational leadership.
  • Build strong, influential relationships with regulators and key stakeholders in EHS.
  • Develop the global EHS strategy and provide guidance around major EHS strategic decisions and their execution.
  • Drive the maturity of Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Systems for the region, focus on meeting annual and strategic plans.
  • Be accountable for new and improved EHS standards implementation that meet current and future requirements and drive the organization toward living incident‑free.
  • Supports corporate EHS policy and standards development, program design and deployment, and EHS KPI reporting.
  • Ensure new legislation and regulations are identified, understood, and incorporated into standards in a timely manner.
  • Supports incident investigation activities, root cause analysis, corrective action identification and closure.
  • Works closely with leaders to measure and communicate HSE performance.
  • Monitors trends and champions injury/illness reduction.
  • Directs the organization in management of emergency conditions and containment actions.
  • Supports company leadership in all aspects of global EHS regulatory compliance, helping to manage and resolve conflicts that arise.
  • Partners with business leaders and employees to continuously improve the HSE culture, HSE awareness and accountability systems.
