About The Position

The EHS Coordinator reports to the Director of Safety. This role is responsible for conducting visits to NGL facilities to perform safety audits, enforce legal regulations (DOT, OSHA, and EPA), developing new strategies promoting a safe workplace, and instructing supervisors and personnel on safety procedures. This position plays an integral part in implementing safety practices at the facilities and in the field.

Requirements

  • Must demonstrate knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of PC and Windows applications.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to work independently.
  • High school diploma / GED is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in safety / regulatory compliance, is required.
  • Valid driver’s license is required
  • Up to 75% travel required.
  • Requires the ability to travel to field locations where environment may vary significantly.

  • College degree is preferred.
  • Previous field experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Must work safely at all times.
  • Conduct employee orientation and ongoing training.
  • Serve as advisor to management in regard to compliance and safety, health and environmental questions and concerns.
  • Research safety and environmental issues and materials, and develop PowerPoint slideshow to present in safety meetings.
  • Train all company employees who utilize company vehicles in using the Smith System.
  • Act as an integral part in creating new EHS policy and procedures and reviewing the current policy and procedures.
  • Make regularly scheduled evaluations/inspections of all facilities to assist with correction of identified substandard issues.
  • Inspect new locations to determine safety and environmental concerns and advise management on corrective measures to be taken.
  • Investigate all incidents and gather evidence used in hearings and insurance investigations.
  • Conduct regular inspection of facility maintenance shops and all company facilities.
  • Report property damage, spills, injuries/illnesses and environmental issues to regulatory agencies and senior management.
  • Serve as a liaison with local fire depts., area hospitals and other outside agencies regarding all incidents.
  • Investigate incidents and injuries; submit required reports to the necessary personnel within the company.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of facilities, observations of personnel in the field and investigations of incidents, develop preventive safety procedures to the necessary personnel to become policy and plays an integral part in implementing them at the facilities & in the field.
  • Regular attendance at the worksite is required.
