About The Position

The EHS Analyst supports environmental, health, safety, and security efforts at the site. Individual is accountable for: supporting EHS activities at his/her location(s), including establishing EHS objectives and targets; internal reporting of EHS performance; communication of national, area, and local regulatory requirements. Position is responsible for: supporting site Eaton’s Management of Environmental, Safety Security, and Health (MESH) and ISO14001 certification; assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics; assuring closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis; completion of required training for EHS personnel; supporting actions during crises, supporting the development/continuous improvement of our strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes. This position will report directly to the site EHS & Facilities Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or Graduating in Spring Semester 2026 with Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
  • 1+ Internship or Co-Op in EHS field
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Grand Rapids, MI (49512) will be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical limitation
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Ability to direct and lead cross functional process improvement teams
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, State and Local laws and regulations
  • Detailed comprehension of industry/state/country specific environmental, health, and safety requirements
  • Thorough knowledge and training for Hazard Materials Handling and Emergency Response requirements or progress towards training certification
  • Thorough knowledge and training for EHS systems development and deployment
  • Knowledge of Worker's Compensation
  • Computer Skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
  • Ability to perform root-cause analysis utilizing multiple professionally accepted disciplines/techniques
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required.
  • Experience and knowledge of analyzing EHS-related data and identifying trends
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective intra and inter-department relationships at all levels and facilitate consensus solutions to effectively resolve problems and issues.
  • Able to be effective working in a team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with safety programs
  • Experience supporting/managing environmental programs such as hazardous waste, air permits, stormwater, SWPPP/SPCC procedures, chemical management, and familiarity with ISO 14001
  • Experience in Industrial Hygiene risk analysis and exposure sampling.
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • IH, CSP and/or CHMM professional credential or progress towards professional certification(s)
  • Experience with environmental permitting and regulatory compliance
  • Understanding of ISO 14001 standards
  • Proven track record of safety metric performance and improvement
  • Lean Fundamentals understanding
  • Experience utilizing EHS management software(s) or enterprise reporting systems
  • Experience supporting audits or regulatory inspections.
  • Experience regarding electrical safe work practices (knowledge of NFPA 70E), DOT/RCRA requirements, Lockout/Tagout, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Support EHS Leader in setting EHS targets & objectives for the plant, Value Streams, and EHS team.
  • Support the creation of EHS goals and/or objectives along with the EHS Manager and appropriate activity-based goals for the site, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results. Support leading engagement activities and drive targeted objective actions to closure with appropriate teams.
  • Support site in achieving EHS targets & objectives. Support development, maintenance, and achievement of goals in support of corporate and business group EHS strategic initiatives.
  • Support the analysis, development and maintaining of risk assessments at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and opportunities for safety improvements for jobs/tasks and to ensure alignment to Eaton and regulatory standards.
  • Support the preparation of reports of key EHS performance indicators to track leading and lagging indicators and supporting EHS information for presentation to Leadership group(s). This includes analyzing safety, sustainability, and engagement data.
  • Act as a site MESH Champion leading at least one MESH element(s) and supports additional MESH element champions and facilitate their engagement in ownership of the MESH elements.
  • Support and promotes zero incident EHS culture throughout site.
  • Works with EHS Manager and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations. This also includes any Eaton or third-party MESH or MESH-related evaluations scheduled.
  • Support efforts for third party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class.
  • Recognize and integrate principle Continuous Improvement (Lean/CI) concepts into EHS and vice-versa.
  • Provide support on using established EHS data processes/guidance to manage data and perform analysis. Will require reporting to EHS manager and Leadership group(s) as appropriate.
  • Support incident/near-miss and injury investigations utilizing appropriate root cause analysis techniques; prepares appropriate reporting and tracking of corrective actions.
  • Provide support to ensure that all training is appropriate, defined and tracked to completion.
  • Conduct EHS training as required to ensure safe operations and compliance.
  • Support efforts to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis. This would include supporting site Management of Change actions with EHS Manager and department Management of Change owners.
  • Support scheduled required environmental inspections and the implementation of sustainability action planning with site Safety Team as we drive to meet Eaton’s 2030 Sustainability initiatives.
  • Support Ergonomics Team as an active member in conducting ergonomic assessments and supporting action development. This will include coordination across multiple teams and supporting budget planning for activities with EHS Manager.
  • Support EHS Manager in coordinating IH risk assessments as appropriate while aligning with corporate standards. This includes conducting area and workstation industrial hygiene exposure sampling, analyzing results with subject matter expert resources within Eaton, and developing necessary action plans if appropriate.
  • Support response activities of site life safety systems notifications and emergency response activities (appropriate training to be provided)
