About The Position

The Temporary Administrative Assistant provides on-site clerical and administrative support to the Insurance Advocates and the Evergreen Health Insurance Program (EHIP) during Open Enrollment for medical insurance. This position will have responsibility for client insurance-related projects, such as assisting Insurance Advocates with processing insurance applications, contacting case managers and clients via phone and mail to assist with completing the application process, processing application denials and client discontinuations, and contacting clients and case managers to finalize certain insurance plan enrollments. This position reports to the EHIP Administrative Supervisor. This full-time, non-exempt, non-union temporary position is expected to last through February 28, 2026. This position is 100% on-site in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Able to organize, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written form.
  • Professional phone skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under stressful conditions.
  • Two or more years of Administrative Assistant experience.
  • Experience working in client databases.
  • Basic knowledge of Washington state insurance laws and regulations, insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, Open Enrollment dates and the WA Healthplanfinder.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the medical coverage/insurance field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to Insurance Advocates and the Insurance Coordinator. This support includes data entry, phone calls, letters, incoming and outgoing mail handling, and documentation of contact with clients, case managers, and vendors.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the client data systems.
  • Conduct database projects or status reports as assigned.
  • Advocate for clients under the guidance of the Administrative Supervisor.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to clients, case managers, insurance companies, the Department of Health’s Early Intervention Program (EIP), and community partners.
  • Perform all assigned duties of the position and other duties as needed.
