About this role This Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Internship supports Carrier’s Climate Solutions America (CSA) Aftermarket EHS functional team. This team is responsible for the design, deployment and continual improvement of the EHS Operating System across more than 175+ field office locations across US and Canada. This project-based internship provides hands-on experience in field service, construction adjacent environments, and real world operational EHS challenges. The primary focus will be supporting enhancements to Carrier’s Electrical Safety Program, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc flash controls, contractor electrical safety, and field specific hazard assessments. The role contributes directly to compliance improvements, program maturity, and the strengthening of EHS culture across a decentralized organization.

Requirements

  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s degree program Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or any EHS field.
  • Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest or foundational knowledge in electrical safety, LOTO, or general OSHA compliance.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly decentralized environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to support multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an electrical safety program upgrade initiative, including project scoping, planning, execution, and documentation of final deliverables.
  • Assist with EHS functional team initiatives tied to the 2026 Annual Plan, including program development and deployment.
  • Partner with the EHS Program Manager to drive process improvement efforts and support KPI tracking, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Northeast Regional EHS Leader to support program implementation, communications, and incident response activities across the region.
  • Contribute to additional EHS projects and tasks as assigned.
