About The Position

Intelligence Federal is a federal contracting company, seeking an experienced Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO Attorney) with strong writing skills and sound judgement to support the United States Department of Agriculture. The attorney will assist in the adjudication of program civil rights complaints for USDA. Previous experience writing Final Agency Decision letters (FADs) at the federal level is required for this position. This is a full time position and eligible for benefits through Intelligence Federal. We were named one of the best places to work in Washington DC by the Washington Business Journal in 2024. Requirements

  • JD required. Must be barred in a US State or Territory
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a lawyer required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in Federal sector civil rights matters and/or processing federal sector EEO complaints required
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years writing Final Agency Decision reports at the federal level
  • Required to have knowledge of: Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Age Discrimination in Employment Act Equal Pay Act Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974
  • Exceptional writing skills as well as adept at legal research and legal editing
  • Must be able to provide references and a writing sample during interview process
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Public Trust Clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and preparing final agency decisions (FADs) - This is the main function of this position.
  • Reviewing Reports of Investigation (ROIs) for legal sufficiency
  • Assisting in processing EEO complaints, both informal and formal
  • Processing post-closure compliance and appeal work
  • Drafting formal and complex legal documents such as accept/dismissal letters, appeal documents, counselor’s reports, and complaint status memorandums.
  • Conducting legal research and editing
  • Reviewing facts and case law
