EEG Technician
About The Position
Performance of electroencephalograms (EEGs) for inpatients and outpatients within the hospital. Verifies patient location. Explains procedure to patient. Performs EEGs on patients, enters patient information into machine, runs test and completes documentation as applicable. Notifies appropriate personnel as necessary if patient needs further assistance, including physicians of critical test findings. Other related duties as assigned. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Completion of American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologist (ABRET) certificate program
- Three months to 1-year experience with EEG testing.
