About The Position

As a designated Level 4 Epilepsy Center, we offer the highest level of complex comprehensive epilepsy care, including both long-term Critical Care monitoring services and an advanced Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). Requirements

  • Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technology program or equivalent
  • Registered EEG Technician (R. EEG T.) through AAET
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in neurodiagnostic testing
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider)
  • Registered EEG Technician (R. EEG T.) through ABRET (must be maintained)
  • Certified Long Term Monitoring (CLTM) Technician through ABRET
  • Minimum of five (5) years of EEG Technician experience
  • Ability to work irregular hours and under stressful conditions
  • Certified Neuro Analyst (CNA) through ABRET
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of EEG Technician experience
  • Including at least two (2) years of CLTM EEG experience

Responsibilities

  • Review EEG studies for technical quality, completeness, and clinical relevance
  • Manage EEG data, including accurate documentation, labeling, storage, and reporting
  • Collaborate with physicians and communicate critical or urgent findings per established protocols
  • Maintain compliance with ABRET standards and departmental policies
  • Function as a resource and leader to residents and EEG staff with data management.
  • Provides leadership and education to EEG Technicians and Trainees at MUSC, MUSC RHN sites and Tele EEG Sites.
  • Facilitates and develops education for Neurology Residents and Fellows.
