About The Position

The Educational Systems Support Technician supports the effective use of academic technology and the Learning Management System (LMS). This role supports and troubleshoots instructional technology, assists with course and classroom tool setup, researches new applications, and provides training and orientation to enhance teaching and learning across all course modalities.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Computer skills: Ability to use email and cloud storage systems, word processing, and spreadsheet software, as well as various educational applications.
  • Encourage change and innovative ideas within the organization and assist employees who may need help with adjusting to any changes that occur.
  • Communication: ability to actively listen and to effectively communicate with others through written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

  • Support the use of the Learning Management System (LMS) by reviewing release notes, testing and communicating fixes, and testing and implementing new features.
  • Troubleshoot LMS issues for faculty and students.
  • Assist with the Learning Tool set-up within LMS courses.
  • Assist with setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting for classroom instructional technology.
  • Manage and support academic technology platforms for course evaluations, syllabi, and learning outcomes.
  • Research technology applications and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Provide support for classroom instructors in embedding technology into traditional or distance courses, such as Traditional, Hybrid, Online, Hy Flex, Accelerated, Evening, Competency-Based or Weekend.
  • Create documentation on usage of campus software platforms.
  • Participate in IT Department or Campus Technology committee meetings as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
