About The Position

The McKay School of Education at Brigham Young University invites applications for a Continuing Faculty Status track (tenure track equivalent) professional faculty position in the department of Educational Leadership and Foundations (EDLF) beginning August 1, 2026. Starting rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Our mission is to expand education vision and empower educational leaders to improve practices, policies, and systems that create high-quality and equitable learning environments, by developing students' knowledge, skills, and dispositions in a faith-based, intellectually rigorous, and inspiring learning environment, collaborating with and supporting current educational leaders, and producing high-quality scholarship by study and by faith. The EDLF Department offers the following degree programs: MEd in School Leadership EdD in Educational Leadership PhD in Educational Inquiry, Measurement, and Evaluation

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, Statistics (with an education emphasis), or a related field (must be completed by the start date)
  • The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Demonstrated excellence or clear potential in teaching graduate-level courses in quantitative research and evaluation methodologies (e.g., introductory statistics, structural equation modeling, hierarchical linear modeling)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach diverse learners, representing unique needs, interests, and fields of study
  • Strong record or clear potential for producing high-quality and collaborative research (though not necessarily as lead author)
  • Demonstrated excellence or clear potential in mentoring and advising graduate students on evaluation and/or research projects
  • Ability to work on a team and collaborate with faculty in different departments, representing different educational and research paradigms

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an education-related field, such as educational leadership, counseling psychology, or learning design

Responsibilities

  • Teach quantitative methods courses in all three programs and also teach interdepartmental courses with other departments in the McKay School, including "Counseling Psychology and Special Education" and "Instructional Psychology & Technology."
  • This position will have a 3-3-2 teaching load (or equivalent negotiated 24-credit teaching load)
  • Have a collaborative research requirement (though not necessarily a research agenda)
  • Mentor master's and doctoral level students on theses and dissertations.
