About The Position

The National WWII Museum is seeking an Educational Content Project Manager for the Jenny Craig Institute. This role involves managing the Institute's historical support and input for various Museum priorities, including Educational Travel programs, Marketing-Communications products, K-12 education activities, and Institutional Advancement initiatives. The Project Manager will coordinate and manage content requirements and deliverables, and deconflict tasks, working closely with the Institute's senior leaders and historians. A primary focus is cross-departmental collaboration and comprehensive content project management for both active and developing programs. The position is crucial for developing and refining historical content for Museum stakeholders, particularly ensuring that educational travel programs and their marketing materials are historically accurate, compelling, and relevant. Additionally, the role involves working with the Institutional Advancement team to provide superior historical content and senior-level engagements for members, important guests, and donors.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in History or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated success in relevant areas such as the educational travel industry or project management field.
  • Experience and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills and abilities – verbal, written, and computer.
  • Highly organized and effective time management skills with evidence of entrepreneurial qualities.
  • Willingness to work on a flexible schedule that goes beyond a 40-hour week, including some weekends and evenings.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift weights up to 50 pounds.
  • May require prolonged standing and/or walking during which time objects are transported.
  • May require bending, squatting, or reaching and occasional use of equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in History or a related field.
  • Knowledge of World War II history and geography and experience in a field such as educational travel or project management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and enhance systems to manage workflow and deliverables between the Jenny Craig Institute, Marketing-communications, and Educational Travel for the full range of current and future educational travel programs.
  • Ensure content quality and control by working with content experts and stakeholders; oversee all printed materials and the website to include marketing, pre-departure, deliverables and itineraries ensuring content accuracy. This includes guidebooks, reading lists, brochures, etc. As needed, research affinity and alumni partners and their WWII connection to appeal to certain audiences.
  • Support, create timelines and tracking systems in conjunction with Educational Travel Operations and the Marketing and Communications Department to proof and approve the historical content of printed and digital materials including but not limited to marketing, pre-departure, deliverables guidebooks, reading lists, and digital assets.
  • Coordinate historical content support for the student travel programs that will foster the museum’s educational travel goals and overall mission.
  • Coordinate with Institutional Advancement and the Museum’s development officers to ensure superior historical content, tailored senior-level engagement, and other support for members, important guests, and donors.
  • Manage, coordinate, and deconflict the activities of the Institute’s Executive Director and senior historians for priority support to other Museum departments and strategic priorities.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor and the Executive Director of the Institute.
