About The Position

•The classroom assistant supports students within and outside of the general education classroom according to their IEP's. Helps to implement the goals, modifications and benchmarks established by the special education liaison within the building. Works with the classroom teacher and assists in the classroom as the teacher deems appropriate. This may include small group instruction, giving frequent breaks, making modifications for students and working with diverse learning styles. Works with special needs population, specifically students with ASD Will implement current IEP plans and data collection Works with all grade level colleagues along with the classroom teacher and special education liaisons. Experience working with children with at times behavioral and learning challenges. Works with student for transport purposes Must be able to lift and will be trained on appropriate strategies for student Student requires transport during transitions, bathrooms, recess and lunch Toileting will be required to support student and students Implement the DCAP Safety care training will be required. Working with students on district trials and ABA methodology All other related duties assigned by Principal This position contains a summer program component

Requirements
