About The Position

The Trump Kennedy Center Education Division provides resources and experiences that inspire, excite, and empower students and young artists, plus the tools and connections to help educators incorporate the arts into classrooms and learning spaces of all types and for all learners. Departments of KC Education include Research & Evaluation, VSA/Accessibility, Education Programs and Productions, and School & Community Programs (where this position sits). The Manager of Education Relationships oversees the planning and implementation of National Community programs, including Partners in Education and Any Given Child. Supports the oversight of budgets and allocation of resources for these programs. Acts as the first point of contact for the Any Given Child and Partners in Education programs. Manages new National Community Partnerships events, collaborations, and projects as they occur.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing arts or arts education programs
  • 3 years’ experience in meeting planning and implementation
  • Must have a working knowledge of arts education, the performing arts
  • Must have experience managing a budget, with additional experience in financial record keeping
  • Must have proficient writing and editing skills to compose and edit written reports, educational materials, and public correspondence, as well as good communication skills in public speaking and presentation, and in dealing directly by telephone or in person.
  • Candidate must be local or willing to relocate to the DMV area.
  • Candidate must be willing to work onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and manage the planning and implementation of Any Given Child and Partners in Education, including:
  • Manage Partners in Education Advisory Committee
  • In collaboration with School and Community Programs leadership team and Education cabinet, develop content for and supervise Any Given Child Exchange and Partners in Education Annual Meeting
  • Supervise other National Community Partnerships events
  • Lead communication and consultation for Any Given Child and Partners in Education networks
  • In collaboration with Senior Director of School and Community Programs, provide oversight of budget for all National Community Partnerships programs.
  • Supervise, administer, and evaluate CETA teaching artists as they present professional learning events for local and national teachers at the Kennedy Center and virtually
  • Supervise Assistant Manager and Coordinator Education Relationships
  • Serve as liaison between National Community Partnerships and KC Education Research & Evaluation department
  • Represent the Kennedy Center and Education Division at public functions as a speaker and presenter, locally and nationally; serve as liaison with other national organizations and secure their assistance in marketing KC resources and programs
  • Other duties as assigned.
