About The Position

The Education Programs Coordinator will join a team that depends on communication, collaboration, and autonomy. We believe in flexibility and creative problem solving. Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and 2 years of professional experience or a combined six years of experience or training in theater, theater education, or elementary education is desired.
  • Must have at least two years of experience teaching, with a focus on elementary aged students, experience and passion for curricular design and lesson plan development for both school and out-of-school programming; knowledgeable about and demonstrated commitment to anti-racism, trauma-informed pedagogy, and social emotional learning; interest and passion for theater; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to pass a background check as this position requires working with youth.
  • Effective communicator, both speaking and writing.
  • Work comfortably with different types of technology including Microsoft Office suite, Zoom, Google Classroom, Google Meets, etc.

  • Being bilingual is a plus (Spanish preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate our Young Actors Summer Institute, Young Actors Studio, and Adult Actors Studio including administering registrations, financial aid payments, and all communication with students and parents/guardians.
  • Serving as a member of the teaching artist roster by leading residencies, workshops, and after-school classes, both at the theater and in the community.
  • Starting in 2027, the education programs coordinator will lead teach a Young Actors Summer Institute camp based on their interest and strengths.
  • Run the Project Discovery student matinee program, including corresponding with educators, coordinating day-of communications and logistics, and working alongside the ticket office and education apprentice to make sure seating needs are met.
  • Act as a production coordinator for our year-round advanced high school program, Youth Company, with the education apprentice.
  • Serve as support staff for Write Here, Write Now! Student playwriting competition and festival with the associate education director as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
