The Virginia Literacy Partnerships (VLP) Office within the Center for the Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia seeks an applicant for a full-time, exempt 40-hour/week VLP Literacy Coach position to join our team. The position is open to either in-person or remote work but must reside in Virginia. Travel will be required several times per week to visit school divisions and provide professional development support as well as for several in-person regional trainings per year. Responsibilities include: Assist senior team members in creating professional development materials and webinars focused on supporting PreK-8th Grade students Support other literacy coaches in their knowledge and mastery of professional development materials Assist teachers, schools, and school divisions to gather, utilize, and analyze multiple data from assessment tools and assist leaders and teachers to use this information to improve instruction Coordinate multiple simultaneous tasks of varying complexity, with demonstrated accountability, and excellent attention to detail while implementing flexible problem-solving skills Collaborate with senior team members to proactively identify, define, and prioritize problems faced by literacy coaches in the field Assist in tasks related to ongoing research and development activities Must be able to travel to schools around Virginia as a part of regular responsibilities.
