About The Position

An EDM Customer Support Technician will function as a machine operation instructor in a classroom/lab environment for current Mitsubishi EDM & Sinker machines. Travel to customer job site and troubleshoot process, throughput, accuracy and surface quality issues on all versions of Sinker/EDM products sold by MC Machinery Systems. While primarily these can be resolved by technology or program manipulation, occasionally machine repair or alignment will be necessary. This role will also be exposed to install and service work to help train and bring a deeper understanding of the machine tool.

Requirements

Customer Service Skills
Working knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes
Ability to use basic hand-tools
Ability to operate a computer with windows operating systems
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Valid Driver's License
3 years of set up and operation of S/EDM machines in a shop environment
Familiarity with mechanical/electrical equipment repair and testing devices

Nice To Haves

Associates or technical degree preferred
CAD/CAM experience such as MasterCam, AutoCAD, and ESPIRIT

Responsibilities

Follow-up and verify machine installations/alignments.
Provide customer support via telephone on application and operation issues.
Solving machine problems at customer sites in an effort to improve/enhance the performance of their Laser machinery.
Technical training to customers both in the classroom and in the field.
Phone support to customers and service personnel as needed.
System Software testing, and duplication; Perform proving tests on newly received machine system software.
Technical Writing; occasionally tasked to develop training manuals, workbooks and sample projects for use in the classroom
Setup and Program machines

Detailed Service Report documentation
Prepare expenses reports
