About The Position

El Camino Health is seeking an ED Technician I to join their Emergency Department team. This position is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role also involves rotating to oversee patients and families in the ED waiting area, assisting patients upon arrival, helping the triage RN identify medical necessity, and providing support and information to patients, families, and staff. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, guests, and co-workers in English both verbally and in writing
  • Exceptional people skills
  • Ability to function in a calm manner in stressful situations
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize, and function in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
  • National Registered Paramedic - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians OR proof of current completion of 2 semesters in an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct and indirect care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department
