Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, guests, and co-workers in English both verbally and in writing
• Exceptional people skills and an ability to function in a calm manner in stressful situations
• Has the ability to adapt, prioritize, and function in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
• National Registered Paramedic - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians OR proof of current completion of 2 semesters in an accredited Registered Nursing Program
• Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Providing direct and indirect care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department
• Rotating to oversee the patients and families in ED waiting area
• Providing assistance to patients’ upon arrival
• Assisting the triage RN in identifying medical necessity
• Supporting and providing information to patients, families and staff
• Responsible for the care of neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients
