About The Position

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise. This internship is a part of a 10-week full-time summer internship program opportunity. This role will be based at Archer’s headquarters in San Jose, California and relocation or housing will not be provided. Archer is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join Archer. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience within the ECS team. In this role, team member will be involved with the systems that provide thermal management and control of the cabin and equipment bays. Maintaining a safe and also comfortable environment in the cabin is a very important aspect of our vehicle.

Requirements

  • Rising junior or senior at accredited college or university in an engineering or science discipline
  • Useful knowledge 3D modeling tools such as NX and Solidworks
  • Useful knowledge of programming tools such as Python

Responsibilities

  • Work with equipment that will provide Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Heating functions.
  • Multi-disciplinary type role, which requires an understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
  • Write technical documents such as test procedures and test reports.
  • Work in a ground laboratory environment and may also involve ground testing activities on the aircraft.
  • Leverage Archer developed software tools and the data pipeline to create templates for reporting, displaying data, and creating reports.
  • Design small specialized test setups and conduct experiments with small fans, ducts, and using instruments and sensors.
  • Connecting and setting up a data acquisition system and installing instrumentation.
