Join a well-respected environmental consulting company engaged in interesting, dynamic work As a Terrestrial Ecology Co-op or Summer Student, you will join our Guelph, Ontario office as part of our Eastern Ecology Team. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of vegetation, wetland, aquatic and wildlife projects with responsibilities as follows:

Requirements

Must be enrolled in terrestrial ecology, biology, environmental science, renewable resource management, or similar technical or undergraduate program at a recognized post-secondary institution
Strong oral and written communication skills
A valid class G driver’s license with no restrictions.
Cares about their safety and the safety of others
Brings knowledge of terrestrial sciences and assessment practices
Works easily in a team
Is thoughtful, thorough and inquisitive in completing office and field tasks
Has energy and desire to support others and respond to the changing needs of a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

Active participation in maintaining Montrose’s strong safety culture
Assist with the coordination and execution of vegetation and wetland surveys, aquatic surveys and various wildlife surveys
Assist with field survey data management
Assist with the preparation of reports
Travel, sometimes to northern Ontario locations, will be required to carry out field programs.
