Join a well-respected environmental consulting company engaged in interesting, dynamic work As a Terrestrial Ecology Co-op or Summer Student, you will join our Guelph, Ontario office as part of our Eastern Ecology Team. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of vegetation, wetland, aquatic and wildlife projects with responsibilities as follows:

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in terrestrial ecology, biology, environmental science, renewable resource management, or similar technical or undergraduate program at a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • A valid class G driver’s license with no restrictions.
  • Cares about their safety and the safety of others
  • Brings knowledge of terrestrial sciences and assessment practices
  • Works easily in a team
  • Is thoughtful, thorough and inquisitive in completing office and field tasks
  • Has energy and desire to support others and respond to the changing needs of a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Active participation in maintaining Montrose’s strong safety culture
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of vegetation and wetland surveys, aquatic surveys and various wildlife surveys
  • Assist with field survey data management
  • Assist with the preparation of reports
  • Travel, sometimes to northern Ontario locations, will be required to carry out field programs.
