About The Position

The Echocardiographer is responsible for performing cardiac diagnostic procedures, including echocardiograms and related cardiovascular studies. This role ensures accurate, timely, and high-quality diagnostic results in accordance with clinical standards and established protocols.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Certificate in Cardiovascular Sonography (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience OR completion of an accredited certification program
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital-based echocardiography experience
  • Pediatric and neonatal echocardiography experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform echocardiography studies including: Transthoracic 2D M-Mode Color-flow Doppler Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) Stress and pharmacological echocardiography
  • Conduct additional cardiac diagnostics such as: EKG Holter monitoring (setup, analysis, and monitoring) Cardiac stress testing
  • Operate cardiac diagnostic equipment including: Echocardiographs Stress testing systems Electrocardiographs Holter monitors
  • Utilize healthcare information systems for scheduling, documentation, and billing
  • Provide age-appropriate care for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Apply infection control and aseptic techniques
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and proper preparation during procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of all diagnostic studies
  • Support clinical education and preceptorship when assigned
  • Perform additional duties within scope of practice
