About The Position

The RN – Long Term Care is responsible for delivering comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to residents across all age groups. This role includes clinical decision-making, care coordination, patient education, leadership responsibilities, and supervision of support staff within a long-term care setting.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, BSN, or Diploma)
High school diploma or equivalent
1–2 years of nursing experience preferred
Active RN license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Clinical competency within 3 months of hire (renewed every 3 years)
High-risk competency within 3 months of hire (renewed annually)

Responsibilities

Provide safe, therapeutic, and age-appropriate nursing care
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care plans
Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient condition
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR)
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Coordinate resident care activities and treatment plans
Communicate effectively with residents and their families
Supervise CNAs, LPNs, technicians, and support staff during assigned shifts
Serve as charge nurse when required
Delegate tasks and provide clinical guidance to team members
Participate in staff training, education, and mentoring
Educate residents and families on conditions, treatments, and care plans
Support psychosocial needs and coping strategies
Participate in care conferences and discharge planning
Adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols
Maintain accurate and confidential documentation
Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and state regulations
