About The Position

The Easement Coordinator core responsibilities include overseeing and enforcing easements and mitigation agreements, addressing encroachments, preparing baseline condition and monitoring reports, and maintaining records in accordance with company standards. This position will report into the Civil Engineering Manager. NOTE: This position is an in-office Mon - Fri opportunity in our Angleton, Texas office. 25 Days PTO - Use it, cash it, roll it Medical Dental Vision 401k 100% Match up to 6% The essential job functions include, but are not limited to: Coordinate required easements with utility providers and third-party engineering firms Review and map all easement documents prepared for the project site. Confirm required widths, placement and alignments of utility lines and easements Maintain strong relationships with existing easement landowners and cultivate relationships with new easement landowners Coordinate with staff and consultants to determine the nature and resolution of potential easement violations Coordinate the defense of easement terms with attorneys and consultants as necessary Coordinate the work of staff who assist in easement creation Write amendments and update maps for Baseline and Present Condition Reports as needed Coordinate with Buc-ee's Legal Department and maintain easement records to company standards Coordinate with other staff, contractors and volunteers to implement management projects on easement properties, consistent with the provisions of the easement Conduct an annual review of easement policies and procedures and recommend updates as needed, including those related to amendments, violations, monitoring, and baseline documentation, in alignment with company standards Author Baseline Condition Reports and Exhibits for new fee utility acquisition properties Assist in the development and updating of property concepts plans and easements plat. Research and coordinate with Buc-ee's Legal Department on all existing easements across a project site so impacts and restrictions are fully vetted Assist in site plan reviews Assist data collection and research with staff in the preparation of site investigation reports (SIR) It is an essential function of this job for the employee to work in office/in the employee’s assigned work site. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning, GIS, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in land stewardship, conservation, legal compliance, utility easements, or real estate
  • 2+ years of utility coordination, legal, real estate or conservation experience
  • An appreciation of the law and the ability to interpret easements, deeds and similar legal documents
  • Ability to interact effectively with many personalities and to work through conflict
  • Proficient at reading maps and using AutoCAD, GIS and, GPS tools
  • Ability to organize and maintain clear and accurate records
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing multiple projects with limited direct supervision
  • Ability to manage time and coordinate schedules
  • Proficient with basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel), smartphones, and web-based applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with partners, volunteers, and staff
  • Knowledge of resources for private landowners
  • Experienced with map making using AutoCAD, ESRI, and ArcGIS
  • Experience facilitating meetings and coordinating planning processes

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate required easements with utility providers and third-party engineering firms
  • Review and map all easement documents prepared for the project site.
