About The Position

The Dyno and Workshop Intern at PMNA is a dual-impact role designed for a high-energy individual who bridge the gap between organizational strategy and hands-on technical execution. You will support the Workshop coordinator in refining operational workflows while working side-by-side with our Dyno Technician to test and analyze world-class racing engines—ranging from iconic historic powerplants to the latest contemporary Porsche racing engines. This is a six-month internship requiring on-site availability in the Carson, CA area for five in-office days per week. The hourly pay range for this role is $19–$21 per hour.

Requirements

  • Education Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience Data analysis
  • Quality Management
  • Automotive Industry exposure
  • Previous Porsche employment preferred but not crucial.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Technology Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
  • Strong Analytical and Mathematical skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects with varying deadlines
  • Preferably with hands on capabilities (e.g. SAE or personal projects) and automotive industry exposure, high technical skills and with internal combustion engines .
  • A positive, "can-do" attitude with the ability to listen closely and execute instructions with precision.
  • Strong automobile affinity helpful
  • Optional: Embedded systems programming, electrical circuit design, C++ programming

Responsibilities

  • Streamlining & Documentation of processes
  • Analysis of test data and update databases after each engine test
  • Support quality management processes
  • Workshop organizational topics
  • Preparation and installation of race car engines for dyno testing
  • Dynamometer testing of current Porsche race car engines and historic engines
  • Troubleshooting of technical issues with the dyno and diagnostic equipment
  • Engine removal from dyno and post dyno processes and inspection
  • General maintenance of test equipment
  • Assistance of engine technicians in the workshop when necessary
