About The Position

The Dual Enrollment Navigator represents MCC’s Secondary Partnerships at assigned high schools. The Navigator is embedded in assigned high schools to enhance dual enrollment and support the transition of high school students to MCC. Develops relationships and partners with MCC divisions, 9-12 teachers, and MCC faculty and staff to orient students, assist registration, advise placement, support technology, and answer questions to ultimately promote student learning and success.

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Three (3) years of full-time time administrative experience in advising/counseling, recruitment, or other related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability to drive college vehicles is required.
  • Must pass background checks as required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as first MCC point of contact for students’ questions related to Secondary Partnerships programming (Concurrent Enrollment, Career Academy, College Now!, Kickstart Online, Gateway to College).
  • Meets with students to provide ongoing, individualized support designed to help students successfully transition to college, persist and achieve their education and career goals.
  • Maintains organized student follow-up to guide them to achieve college and academic success.
  • Assists with orienting students to MCC online resources including Self-Services, My Hub, CANVAS, Email, One Drive, etc.
  • Provides interpretation of placement and career assessments to assist students in identifying career interests, goals, academic preparedness, skills, and talents.
  • Provides students with specific and accurate information about academic support programs and services such as: Career Experiences, Learning & Tutoring Support Services, Disability Support Services, First Year Experience, etc.
  • Assists students individually and in group settings with the registration processes including: initial planning, adding, dropping or withdrawing from classes.
  • Assists students in applying for MCC scholarships.
  • Serves as liaison with MCC Secondary Partnerships to enhance approval and development of concurrent enrollment course sections; the registration of students; the billing, and sponsoring of tuition; and the grading in concurrent enrollment classes.
  • Collaborates and communicates with 9-12 faculty, counselors, and administration to increase dual enrollment and the number of students who transition to MCC.
  • Works collaboratively with staff/faculty in MCC departments and services to understand processes, systems, current trends, programming, and services to resolve student issues.
  • Provides accurate, timely, and meaningful reports to assess program outcomes.
  • Represents MCC at assigned school district sponsored events.
  • Participates in various departmental activities including, but not limited to: staff meetings, orientations, committee meetings, professional development and outreach activities.
  • Attend work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
