About The Position

LSSI is hiring a full-time Developmental Trainer (DT). Responsible for the daily oversight and management of residential programs and providing direct care, specialized treatment, and assistance to individuals in a residential program in accordance with the individual’s plan. Shift: Mon-Fri - 1st shift 730a-330p

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) to two (2) years experience in the field required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software required.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years experience in the field preferred.
  • One (1) to two (2) years experience in a supervisory/managerial role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for assigned staff.
  • Maintain staff requirements.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and current relative to residents and the home.
  • Provide direction and initiate communication with necessary personnel.
  • Commit to and actively participate in following all procedures identified by the management and LSSI.
  • Ensure the living environment is kept clean and safe, completing special duties as assigned.
  • Provide residents with direct care assistance as required or identified.
  • Ensure scheduled safety drills are conducted and the results are accurately documented.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
  • Accompany residents on community outings; schedule and participate in activities.
  • Assist with weekly grocery and supply runs as needed.
  • Assist with maintenance of individuals’ records as needed.
  • Act as mandated reporter, ensuring that the residents are treated fairly and respectfully at all times.
  • Ensure job duties of the team and direct reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • May provide direct services or perform some of the same duties as assigned staff.
  • Assist the supervisor with compliance with Rules 115 and 116.
  • Respond to all incoming correspondence and questions in a timely manner; including but not limited to inquires received via email, telephone, text message, and fax.
  • Ensure reasonable measures are taken to protect confidential and/or sensitive information as well as ensuring the security of all LSSI systems is maintained.
  • Responsible for completing all required training assignments as well as complying with the related organizational, administrative, and programmatic policies.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.
