Aviva Senior Living is hiring for a Driver to provide transportation services for Aviva residents in a safe, comfortable, efficient and reliable manner. In addition, this job position participates in the operation of the Sarasota Manatee Jewish Housing Council, Inc. This position is on an as-needed basis (PRN) and requires weekend availability. Essential Functions include, but are not limited to: Provide transportation services to Aviva residents as assigned utilizing its fleet of vehicles in a manner that best benefits the residents and following routine schedules where applicable. Extend proper courtesy to Aviva residents utilizing transportation services including appropriate greetings, opening/closing doors, and assisting in/out of vehicles safely as needed. Help residents in loading/unloading items such as grocery sacks, walkers, etc. Participate in the routine maintenance and cleaning of fleet vehicles as assigned. Maintain travel and vehicle maintenance logs as required. Drive for evening/weekend activity trips as scheduled. Participate in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in work and break areas. Participate in keeping all departmental equipment/supplies in good order. Keep abreast of current regulations governing the operation of motor vehicles. Comply with Florida State statutes regarding required continuing education credits. Work safely, always complying, with safety standards. Discharge properly such other responsibilities and duties as the Director of Resident Services may direct. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the Driver must be able to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 100 pounds, greater than 100 pounds with assistance of others or special equipment. The colleague must also be able to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions. QualificationsEducational/Professional Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent or specialized related knowledge. Current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for Class C or higher vehicles with a Passenger Endorsement from the state of Florida. Current CPR certification. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Able to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, which may be furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Able to speak effectively before groups. Able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide tens and hundreds. Must be able to perform these operations using units of American money and weight, measurement, volume, and distance. Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. In good health and demonstrate emotional stability and socially appropriate behavior. Able to work harmoniously with all people residing in, employed by or associated with the organization. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people. Must maintain confidentiality in all Aviva resident and employee matters. Must adhere to the Dress and Grooming Guidelines established for the department. All opportunities to work at Aviva require a Level 2 background screening.
