JOB SUMMARY As part of our recent growth, we are seeking an experienced part-time Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will drive light delivery truck (under 26,000 GVW) for pick-up and delivery of aircraft parts and other related materials.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or be willing to be trained and become certified.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and directly to customers, co-workers and supervisory personnel both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
  • Skill in prioritizing and managing a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to take direction from lead and supervisor to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate and/or follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to communicate in English through voice, or American Sign Language or adaptive technology.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Prior delivery driving experience.

Responsibilities

  • Verify load against shipping papers.
  • Drive truck to outside customer locations and deliver/pick up customer orders and supplies.
  • Inspect truck equipment and vital fluids daily keeping all filled to manufacturer’s recommendations and fill out daily and weekly preventative maintenance logs.
  • Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
  • Load and unload trucks in a manner so as to ensure all parts and supplies are protected against damage.
  • Sign all paperwork relevant to the work picked-up.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with Skills Inc. employees and customers’ representatives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
