About The Position

The Fleet/Driver Safety Specialist position will work collaboratively with the Operations, Safety, and Fleet teams to improve driver safety and professionalism and reduce vehicle incidents, compliance violations, and associated costs. Key areas of focus include vehicle camera systems (dash cams), driver coaching and recognition, driver training and qualification, driver training and communications, supervisor training and development, vehicle incident investigations, periodic reporting, use of data and analytics, and innovations that improve driver performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); associates or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Three (3) or more years of fleet and driver safety-related experienceincluding experience with dash cam systems, driver training, and driver coaching
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work independently
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; Ability to manage and prioritize multiple work assignments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams, and Adobe Acrobat

Responsibilities

  • Administer the fleet dash cam system, including:
  • Daily coaching of drivers
  • Collaboration with supervisors and managers on driver improvement
  • Daily system monitoring (e.g., offline cameras, blocked/misaligned cameras, unassigned trips)
  • Collaborate with Fleet department on hardware maintenance and repair
  • System configuration and maintenance (e.g., user accounts and access, driver and vehicle configuration, driver scorecard, alerts, daily messages)
  • Privacy and legal considerations
  • Dashboards, reporting, and data and trend analysis
  • User training
  • Develop, monitor, analyze, and regularly report on metrics that drive continuous improvement in fleet and driver safety (i.e., reduce incidents, improve compliance)
  • Collaborate and assist Safety and Human Resources with:
  • Managing the company driver qualification process, including training, demonstration of proficiency, and DOT compliance
  • Managing company UTV operator qualification process, including train-the-trainer, operator training, and demonstration of proficiency
  • Developing and administering driver safety training, including defensive driving (P.A.C.E.) and UTV operation
  • Oversee and manage Safe Driver recognition and award program
  • Develop and deliver communications (alerts, bulletins, presentations, videos) to reinforce company policies and safe driving practices
  • Lead, participate in, and/or review investigations into vehicle-related incidents; recommend corrective and preventive actions; communicate lessons learned throughout the company
  • Advise on driver disciplinary actions related to policy violations and vehicle incidents
  • Recommend initiatives to improve driver safety, compliance, and professionalism
  • Recommend improvements to driver safety-related policies and programs
  • Collaborate with international company locations to share knowledge and implement best practices
