Drinking Water Engineer

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Drinking Water Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater Team in Indianapolis, IN and lead the way in designing, developing, and implementing innovative water treatment solutions. Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required
- Minimum of 4 years of discipline-specific engineering experience required
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Proficient in all aspects of water treatment design from supply to treatment plant and distribution system
- Knowledge of water treatment design standards
- Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, Plant3D, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
- Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced judgement and analysis techniques to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for water treatment projects
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
- Design and optimize water treatment facilities for both public and industrial applications, prioritizing water quality, regulatory compliance, and public health protection
- Assess and improve aging infrastructure to enhance reliability and resilience of water distribution systems
- Monitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize issues in vital water infrastructure
- Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable and cost-effective solutions
- Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff
