About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Drayage Procurement Specialist to join our growing team. This role is focused on building and strengthening our drayage carrier network through proactive sourcing, relationship development, and rate negotiation. You will play a key role in supporting both current operations and future growth by ensuring we have reliable, cost-effective capacity while helping the organization continue to drive towards a more strategic procurement model. Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in transportation procurement, carrier sourcing, or brokerage.
  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of truckload/drayage market dynamics.
  • Ability to build and manage carrier relationships.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and responsiveness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with drayage and/or intermodal operations preferred.
  • Familiarity with RFPs, mini-bids, or structured procurement processes preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret market data and trends.

Responsibilities

  • Source, onboard, and develop new drayage carrier relationships across key markets.
  • Build and maintain a scalable, reliable carrier network aligned to company growth.
  • Negotiate competitive drayage rates with carriers across multiple regions.
  • Conduct mini-bids and support spot procurement for new and existing opportunities.
  • Partner with the Pricing team on RFPs and strategic bids, specifically for drayage components.
  • Collaborate with Operations to resolve capacity issues and provide procurement-level escalation support.
  • Serve as a resource for carrier-related challenges, including performance and availability.
  • Monitor market trends, capacity conditions, and fuel impacts to inform procurement strategy.
  • Cross-train to support pricing/quoting functions as needed (non-core responsibility).
