About The Position
Merrimack Services is a people-first company that leads door-to-door voter mobilization programs across the country, working with Progressive Turnout Project, the largest voter contact organization in the country, specifically dedicated to mobilizing the Democratic Party and defending democracy. The mission is to rally Montana Democrats to vote in June. The company is seeking enthusiastic Door Knockers to help get out the vote for congressional candidate Sam Forstag in the Montana Democratic primary in June. Door knockers will engage with voters at their homes and discuss the importance of making their voices heard. This innovative door-to-door canvassing program is organized remotely, meaning you never need to visit an office location. As independent contractors, door knockers have the flexibility to complete every part of the program on their own schedule, choosing when and where to knock on doors with no required schedule or time commitment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with other personal or professional commitments seeking a flexible option. Door Knockers will be paid $150 for each completed door knocking packet, which typically takes about three hours and can be completed all at once or over multiple days. Successful completion of the first packet may lead to additional opportunities. Door knocking activities will begin May 9th and continue through June 2nd, with Door Knockers able to set their own schedules and working hours.
Requirements
- Comfortable with talking to individuals you may not know about progressive politics and the importance of voting.
- Must have the physical stamina to stand/walk for extended periods (packets can take several hours to complete) while meeting and talking to people.
- Ability to memorize and recite brief talking points.
- Understand how to enter basic data on a cell phone.
- Permanent residence in the state of Montana.
Responsibilities
- Complete an online briefing that will provide an overview of your contract responsibilities.
- Travel door-to-door in your community or in a surrounding region, using a provided list of voters and a script.
- Talk to voters about the upcoming Montana primary election on June 2nd.
- Enter data from all conversations with voters into an app on your phone.
