About The Position

Professional level position works in collaboration and support of other Foundation staff members and organization stakeholders to advance the mission of the Hospital by increasing the level of involvement and philanthropic commitment from patients, providers, employees, volunteers and the public in the organization's service areas to the Foundation. Each Donor Relations Specialist will take the lead on different core components necessary for the Foundation's success, working together as a team to ensure strong donor engagement, stewardship, fundraising, and operational excellence. This position focuses on the continued growth of the Foundation by cultivating prospective donors while maintaining relationships with current donors through various strategies and tactics. This position actively works with other Foundation staff and other stakeholders in cultivating, identifying, and acquiring new donors. Must work as part of a multidisciplinary team collaborating on events, projects, initiatives, programs, grants, campaigns, and other core components within the Foundation. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to independently manage assigned responsibilities while collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team. Requirements

  • Associate Degree required.
  • Language Skills - Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills required.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism required.
  • Current, valid driver's license issued in the state of legal residence required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Healthcare, Social Service, or Fundraising preferred.
  • 3 years of sales, non-profit or fundraising experience preferred.
  • Ability to make effective presentations to various stakeholders including physicians, executive team, governance, and external constituents preferred.
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with leadership and departments to align philanthropic efforts with organizational needs and goals.
  • Identify businesses, individuals, and other prospects with a commitment to the growth of Faith Regional Health Services.
  • Cultivate identified prospects to initiate, secure and sustain, charitable giving toward Faith Regional Health Services.
  • Serve as a professional point of contact for the Foundation and a representative of the health system in campus and community settings to strengthen collaboration and visibility.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, providers, employees, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
  • Responsible for continued growth of relevant donor prospect pools and successfully determine whether an individual or business can make a major gift or special gift and devise appropriate action to lead the donor to a charitable gift commitment.
  • Provide donors with initial guidance on the giving process, including tax-deductible contributions and gift acceptance policies.
  • Collaborate with the Foundation team as appropriate to receive, document, and acknowledge incoming donations, ensuring accurate record-keeping and donor recognition.
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor and hospital records.
  • Responsible for documenting interactions and stewardship activities in the donor database as well as reporting performance of areas of responsibilities to leadership.
  • Lead or support assigned Foundation core components, ensuring smooth execution of initiatives.
  • Develop and implement donor stewardship strategies to sustain and grow philanthropic support.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to produce communications and content creatively and proficiently, such as newsletters, reports, donor messaging, event related materials, and other needs within requested time frames.
  • Actively lead necessary operational tracking, using the project management platform and lead execution of assigned Foundation core components. Compose correspondence and schedule appropriate follow-up as it applies.
  • Consistently utilize research and best practices to share with the team for creation of fundraising programs, events, campaigns and initiatives.
  • Manage and execute donor correspondence, gift acknowledgments and cultivation touchpoints in a timely manner.
  • Develops and implements cultivation strategies for assigned and identified prospects with the ultimate goal of closing and securing the gift.
  • Establishes priorities in planning and organizing duties assigned to provide the best possible use of skills, resources and time.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for individuals and organizations interested in making unsolicited in-kind and cash gifts to the foundation via in-person, phone, or email.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to process and allocate gifts appropriately based on foundation guidelines.
  • Lead the creation and management of Foundation programs and event materials.
  • Utilize social media, digital platforms, and traditional media to increase public awareness of fundraising efforts in collaboration with Marketing and Public Relations.
  • Manage Foundation dedicated space on campus including donor walls.
  • Research, write, and submit grant applications to secure funding for health-related initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with individual funding sources and provide required reporting and stewardship for grants and donations received.
  • Lead the creation and execution of major gifts and planned giving programs.
  • Coordinates planned giving promotion and programs to encourage gifting instruments of trusts and bequests as well as methods of funding including cash, securities, and real estate.
  • Maintains planned gift data on all planned gifts and expectancies currently in place.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising and stewardship events, ensuring successful implementation and engagement.
  • Lead, manage, coordinate and cultivate business partnerships and onsite hosted events.
  • Maintain relationships with corporate funding sources and provide required reporting and stewardship donations received.
  • Carries out the duties and responsibilities of position without close supervision.
  • Responsible for maintaining a departmental climate of openness, fairness, acceptance of criticism and discussion of ideas within the department.
  • This role requires wearing business attire as outlined in the Personal Appearance policy while on company premises, during offsite meetings, and when representing the organization externally.
