Established in 1899, Child & Family Service (CFS) is a community-based organization with a mission of strengthening families and fostering the healthy development of children. CFS has been a fierce advocate for children and families in the midst of social injustices and inequalities. Our statewide support, counseling, and therapeutic programs help individuals and families heal from trauma, prevent abuse and neglect, and can break the cycle of generational poverty. Child & Family Service's new program, Safe Haven for Survivors and Pets, is seeking a Domestic Violence Specialist. The Domestic Violence Specialist II (DVS II) provides confidential, trauma‑informed support to survivors of domestic violence and their pets. This role involves delivering direct services such as safety planning, crisis intervention, case management, support group facilitation, housing advocacy, and accurate data entry. The DVS II will partner closely with survivors to develop individualized service plans addressing immediate safety concerns and long‑term stability, while connecting survivors and their pets to appropriate resources and supports. This position takes a holistic approach to family healing, recognizing the vital role pets play in survivors’ lives and well‑being. Staff are expected to consistently apply trauma‑informed principles and uphold CFS's HOPE values and culture, ensuring compassionate, survivor‑centered advocacy as individuals and families work toward rebuilding their lives.
