About The Position

Community Action Programs Cayuga/Seneca (CAP) is seeking a Domestic Violence Advocate/Educator. This role involves providing direct services to victims of domestic violence and their children. The Advocate/Educator acts as a crucial liaison between victims and various entities such as law enforcement, the courts, social services, and other service providers. Additionally, a key part of the position is to deliver educational presentations to the community and schools, focusing on the dynamics of domestic violence and outlining the services offered by the Agency.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in human services or related field required
  • Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence, and the problems and needs of victims
  • Must have reliable transportation and a clean, valid NYS driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Family Development Credential is desired

Responsibilities
