Domestic Reader: Job Responsibilities: The Application Reader for Pre-College Programs will review and prepare domestic high school student applications for the Pre-College Admissions Committee. Reading applications requires a strong sense of confidentiality and careful evaluation of academic potential and readiness for college-level experiences. Documents reviewed include, but are not limited to, high school transcripts, standardized test scores (if applicable), teacher/counselor recommendations, personal essays, and supplemental program-specific materials. Readers calculate GPAs from transcripts, assess overall academic preparation, and provide evaluative notes to support admissions decisions. Additionally, readers may assist with office projects to ensure a smooth and student-centered admissions process. This is a part-time, temporary position requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week. Job Requirements: Successful candidates for this position must demonstrate a strong commitment to confidentiality, student data privacy, and ethical admissions practices. The ability to evaluate high school-level coursework, extracurricular involvement, and personal essays with fairness and attention to detail is essential. Additionally, readers may assist with office initiatives to ensure a smooth, equitable, and student-centered admissions process.
