About The Position

Under the direction of Department of Medicine (DOM) leadership, the supervisor of the DOM Applications and Analytics team is responsible for managing operations, personnel, and strategic initiatives related to DOM portals and analytics. The role combines project management expertise with supervisory responsibilities to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality technical solutions that support the department's clinical, research, and administrative missions. . The supervisor leads the DOM portals and analytics team in successfully developing, implementing, and launching new internally developed systems that often impact large populations across DOM. This includes managing the team's workflows, assigning priorities, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with departmental goals. This supervisor oversees project lifecycles of internally developed systems from conception through implementation, managing timelines and resources, and serving as the primary liaison between team members, departmental leadership, and key internal and external stakeholders, such as DOM eduation and finance teams, HR, UCSF IT, and other department leaders. Beyond project management, the supervisor provides leadership and guidance to foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing team. This includes supporting professional growth, addressing challenges, and implementing best practices in project management and personnel supervision. This position also plays a key role in improving organizational processes, driving change management, and ensuring the smooth integration of new systems and workflows in the department. This position requires a strong background in leadership and organizational management, with expertise in project management, team supervision, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and intellectually curious, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively guide the team and engage stakeholders at all levels. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $110,400 - $235,400 (Annual Rate). Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in technical project management
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Thorough knowledge of organization or initiative processes, protocols and procedures, particularly within large, complex institutions
  • Advanced knowledge of product end-to-end lifecycle, including, planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and enhancements
  • Advanced knowledge of common organizational-specific computer application programs (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, SmartSheet, etc
  • Strong analytical / problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate and influence others, both verbally and in writing
  • Advanced project management skills, including planning, execution, and resource allocation
  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality
  • Solid knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques
  • Experience in personnel management and leading cross-functional teams
