Documentation Specialist (Engineering Department)

About The Position

This entry-level position involves creating and maintaining control plan documentation (PFMEA, MQC, ECCS, FSCS, etc.), developing technical instruction sheets (TIS) based on engineering criteria, and supporting new product launch activities, including spare part registration. The specialist will also prepare and submit purchase requisitions for engineering materials, tools, and services, and assist engineering staff with data entry, reporting, and internal communications.

Requirements

Proficiency in mathematical and grammatical skills.
Ability to professionally create reports and other documents with a high detail of accuracy.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient computer skills, especially Excel, Word, SolidWorks.
Familiar with AIAG core quality tools & documentation.
Strong organizational skills, able to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
High School Diploma/GED with equivalent relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in a relevant field preferred

Responsibilities

Create and maintain quality control plan documentation (PFMEA, MQC, ECCS, FSCS, etc.) per PE direction.
Create and maintain status reports for management review (PE MOC, process deviation status, etc.).
Maintain process sheets, route to engineering for revision, make necessary changes.
Maintain PE ECR / PCR documentation status.
Create purchase requisitions, search PO status, create capital project status reports, etc. within ERP system.
Contact outside vendors for quotations.
Responsible for PE document room organization and 5S.
Responsible for 5S in their area.
Travel as needed.
Other duties as assigned by management.
