About The Position

Essential Functions: Coordinate and arrange Dock traffic. Responsible for dock safety. Load and unload trucks. Ensure incoming trucks and loads are safe and document unsafe conditions. Verify/Inspect the quality and quantity of items against supporting documents. Identify, hold, and segregate defective material. Keep assigned areas clean including moving interior dumpsters to external dumpster via fork truck. All waste must be weighed, and a log must be maintained for ISO reporting purposes. Coordinate recycling and waste removed with external providers. Control recyclable material and keep in orderly fashion until it is hauled to a recycling facility. Order general plant supplies, PPE, and maintenance materials. Maintain stock of materials ordered in designated area in a neat and safe manner. Maintain external contractor log. Issue and maintain necessary work permits and scope of work documentation. Perform required checks of assigned equipment and areas in accordance with regulations and NSG policies. Close the Northwood facility M-F. Participate, support, and comply with health, safety, ISO and 5S initiatives and requirements. Support Shipping, Receiving Dock Coordinator with shipping, receiving responsibilities. Prepare bills of lading, customs forms, and other shipping documents including FedEx shipments. International Shipping will be required so must have knowledge of customs requirements and be able to work with external brokers. Contact logistics providers transport companies and suppliers in order to expedite, trace or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase orders. Communicate with buyer, customer, and vendors on discrepancy of receipts or damages. Maintain accurate documentation, record keeping, for all shipment in and out of the facility. Maintain acknowledgement of receipt of quantities and enter electronic receipt in SAP system. Process and monitor freight invoice through CASS portal. Requirements

  • A high school diploma/GED
  • 2 years of shipping/receiving with some international shipping experience
  • 1 year forklift experience
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel & SAP
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time on concrete floors
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds
  • Must be organized
  • Poses clear verbal and written communication skills
