About The Position

The District Support Technician I provides Level 1 technical support for software, hardware, and network issues to all District users by diagnosing and resolving problems. The ideal candidate communicates technical solutions clearly in a user-friendly manner, offers one-on-one support as needed, and aids peers with computer, software, and phone issues. This role also includes device deployment across the district, conducting hardware and software inventory, and reporting. The successful candidate will foster a high-quality teaching and learning environment. Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts Driver's License.

• A+ Certification, or at least two years of experience in a technical support position, preferably in a school setting, is required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and respond effectively to questions from students, staff, parents, and community members.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional literature, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Sound reasoning and problem-solving skills to evaluate information, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and recommend appropriate courses of action.
• Capacity to use professional literature, evidence-based research, and ongoing professional learning to inform instructional and practice decisions.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the community.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
• Commitment to performing all duties in compliance with district requirements, state and federal laws, and Framingham Public Schools policies.

• Proficiency in using technology and willingness to learn new tools; ability to operate a computer and utilize software, including Google Workspace for Education.
• Willingness to plan, coordinate, and participate in ongoing professional learning, coaching, and staff development.
• Experience in evaluating student skills, interpreting assessment data, and writing clear, concise reports.
• Strong collaborative, instructional, coaching, and leadership skills to support student programming.
• Ability to use data effectively to inform instructional decisions and improve student outcomes.
• Knowledge of specialized content areas, relevant laws, and educational procedures.
• Ability to plan and implement lessons that align with district and school goals.
• Proficiency in integrating instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree in Information Systems or a technology-related discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze problems, conduct research, and resolve end-user issues related to hardware, operating systems, and software on Chromebooks, laptops, and desktops. Additional supported hardware includes printers, copiers, projectors, and other A/V equipment.
• Provide technical support to each school in the district as needed, either on-site or through remote connections, phone, HelpDesk system, and/or email, depending on the severity of the issue.
• Set up, deploy, and maintain district hardware, utilizing imaging software and performing daily break/fix tasks.
• Accurately track all customer problems and requests in the district ticketing system to ensure timely follow-up on inquiries and completion of assigned tasks.
• Collaborate with other IT personnel in the Operational Technology Department.
• Advocate for and adhere to IT strategies, hardware and software standards, security policies, and operational procedures established by the Office of Technology Department, ensuring consistent application across all schools in the district.
