About The Position

The Distribution Manager will be responsible for the leadership, strategic direction, and overall performance of the site distribution business. The Distribution Manager will lead a team of employees and will be instrumental in driving growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in distribution with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven track record of distribution operational excellence and financial acumen.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and distribution logistics.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems and other relevant software tools.
  • Minimum HS degree or GED

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to distribution staff at the facility.
  • Foster a safe, positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Manage the regional distribution center operations, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Establish a collaborative relationship with peer Production & Materials Manager who oversees the manufacturing activities in the building.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Monitor financial performance, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Drive profitability through effective resource allocation and process optimization.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent product quality and reliable distribution services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Address and resolve customer issues and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Implement lean principles and other continuous improvement initiatives ensuring the focus point of all supply chain activities are optimized.
  • Lead projects aimed at enhancing safety, operational efficiency, reducing waste, and improving overall productivity.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, incorporating relevant innovations into distribution.
  • Provide transparency and a reporting cadence among partners ensuring your process improvements extend outside of the facility.
  • Train and develop staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Identify and nurture future leaders within the organization.
