Job Summary: The Distribution Center Specialist – Automation Systems Support plays a key role in the daily functionality of automation equipment, ensuring efficient operations by performing routine maintenance, addressing faults, and assisting in repairs across automated systems such as AutoStore, conveyors, and other material handling equipment. This role serves as a first-response resource to identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues and escalate complex issues to the Supervisor or vendors as appropriate.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or maintenance support role preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., operate manual tools, and remain on feet for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures and physical warehouse environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with robotic or automated systems a strong plus.
  • Technical coursework or certifications in industrial maintenance, automation, or robotics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of automation and robotic systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Complete minor repairs and adjustments to AutoStore robots, conveyor systems, and other automated machinery under guidance from the Supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of automated areas to prevent debris or blockages affecting performance.
  • Assist with restocking and organizing parts inventory and maintenance supplies.
  • Identify and respond to alarms, system errors, or equipment malfunctions in real time.
  • Conduct basic diagnostics on mechanical or electrical components and escalate advanced issues to the Automation Systems & Robotics Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Log and track all faults, repairs, and parts usage in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Follow preventive maintenance routines established by the Supervisor to ensure all systems remain operational.
  • Record observations, service checks, and minor corrective actions performed.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and other safety protocols during maintenance activities.
  • Immediately report safety hazards, near misses, and incidents to the Supervisor.
  • Assist in the adherence to OSHA standards and Hollywood Feed safety policies.
  • Participate in on-the-job training sessions related to automation troubleshooting, software use, and safety.
  • Support operational teams by helping explain basic system resets and safe equipment practices.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to relay feedback, observations, and system issues.
