About The Position

The Dispatcher plays a critical role in coordinating and managing the efficient movement of vehicles and personnel within the waste management and remediation services industry. This position ensures that all fleet operations comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while maintaining optimal scheduling and routing to meet service demands. The Dispatcher acts as the central communication hub, responding promptly to incoming requests, dispatching drivers, and addressing any operational issues that arise in real-time. By effectively managing fleet maintenance schedules and monitoring vehicle conditions, the Dispatcher helps minimize downtime and maximizes productivity. Ultimately, this role is essential for maintaining seamless logistics operations in a fast-paced environment, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and operational success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in dispatching or fleet management within a logistics or transportation environment.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in using communication tools such as phones and dispatch software.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher in logistics, transportation management, or a related field.
  • Experience in the waste management or environmental services industry.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily dispatching of vehicles and personnel to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with DOT regulations and company policies across all fleet operations.
  • Maintain constant communication with drivers and field staff to provide updates, resolve issues, and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Manage fleet maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure vehicles are safe and operational.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly, addressing customer inquiries and dispatching resources accordingly.
  • Utilize logistics management systems to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and document service activities.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies or unexpected changes in service requirements, adapting plans to maintain operational flow.
