You'll play a crucial role in deploying and managing AAS resources while getting to know other communication roles. You'll be a key player in ensuring smooth and efficient emergency operations. Type of Opportunity: Full Time (0.9 FTE/36 hours per week) Work Schedule: (3) 12 Hour shifts in Days (0600-1800) or Nights (1800-0600) We support you at AAS. Here's how. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • IAED, BLS, and NM EMD required by the end of training

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • 1 year of dispatch experience or customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Input requests for service and relevant information from area fire departments, and communicate with multiple agencies regarding safety, unit availability, and ETAs.
  • Collaborate with other SSC and utilize Logis EMS CAD software for call management.
  • Maintain accurate dispatch records to determine emergency medical crew availability.
  • Collaborate positively with city hospitals' emergency departments regarding incoming calls.
  • Prepare informative briefing logs for relief dispatchers to ensure smooth transition between shifts.
  • Attend department staff meetings, pertinent in-services, workshops, and seminars.
  • Input fire department calls and relay radio interactions with fire department dispatch centers and apparatus to field crews.
  • Dispatch and monitor ambulance units assigned to emergency and non-emergency calls.
