Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming 911 and non-emergency telephone calls. Communicate effectively with callers and responders using a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system, telephones, multi-channel radio, and numerous computer databases and maps. Accurately and consistently dispatch the appropriate police, fire, ambulance or other emergency response resources, track the status and location of each, and transmit messages and information to response units. Provide pre-arrival emergency medical and fire instructions to callers using Emergency Medical and Fire Protocols. Maintain positive and professional written and verbal communication skills at all times. Consistently provide excellent customer service to all citizens and emergency responders. Maintain confidentiality at all times Complete job-related trainings and continuing education as assigned and required. Ability to work all shifts, some in excess of eight (8) hours, holidays and weekends. Ability to work overtime. Performs all other duties as assigned.
