The Chief Safety Officer is the Director of Public Safety and is responsible for overseeing the University of Utah Department of Public Safety, which includes the following operational divisions: University Police, Campus Security, Health Security, Emergency Management, Emergency Communications, and the central administrative Office of the CSO . Determines the nature and seriousness of the situation. Obtains the necessary information needed to dispatch appropriate resources including but not limited to University Police, Campus Security, Fire and EMS and any other Public Safety entities.
