About The Position

The Dispatcher I coordinates daily delivery operations by scheduling and routing customer orders on company delivery trucks or approved carriers. This role works closely with Sales, Loading teams, Drivers, and Yard Management to ensure deliveries are scheduled efficiently and orders are completed accurately. The Dispatcher I helps maintain effective communication across departments, supports driver compliance requirements, and ensures delivery operations run smoothly to meet customer commitments and company operational needs.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously across several computer programs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across departments.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and basic Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in logistics, dispatching, transportation coordination, or a similar operational role.
  • Familiarity with plant nomenclature or nursery operations.
  • Spanish language communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and route customer orders for delivery using company trucks or common carriers.
  • Determine truck loads, delivery routes, and driver assignments.
  • Use company dispatch software to schedule and route delivery orders.
  • Prepare and print delivery orders and driver packets for upcoming routes.
  • Maintain communication between Sales, Loading teams, and Drivers regarding order updates or delivery changes.
  • Coordinate with Yard Management regarding equipment needs in the yard, including trailer movement and product backhauls.
  • Work with Loading Leads to coordinate trailer loading schedules and staging locations.
  • Assign driver start times and coordinate driver return locations at the end of the day.
  • Assist in verifying that new drivers meet company and regulatory compliance requirements before operating delivery routes.
  • Work closely with Drivers to support compliance with company driver requirements and certifications.
  • Monitor tarp condition on delivery trucks and coordinate replacement when needed.
  • Set up new drivers in the Tangerine Fleet Safety system and review reports to ensure required daily vehicle inspections are completed.
  • Contact customers to provide estimated delivery times for next-day deliveries.
  • Work with the Sales team to resolve delivery issues and coordinate order adjustments.
  • Assist the Fleet Manager in maintaining fleet safety records and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate and monitor agricultural inspections for incoming deliveries to Farmington or shipments leaving the state or country.
  • Assist other operational departments when needed to support delivery coordination.
  • Support general logistics and operational communication between departments.
