About The Position

The Nuclear Pharmacy at Cardinal Health is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers, adhering to highly regulated State and Federal guidelines. This role may also involve consulting with or advising physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. The Pharmacy Services & Delivery team is responsible for the prompt and accurate delivery and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals or oncology pharmaceuticals to medical care providers, in accordance with customer demand and the requirements of assigned routes. This includes preparing doses for shipment, preparing cases, wiping doses, and loading and unloading containers while maintaining prescribed safety standards and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Individuals in this role are expected to apply acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks, readily learn and apply new information and methods, and maintain appropriate licenses, training, and certifications. The position involves working on routine assignments that require some problem resolution, adhering to clearly defined standard operating procedures and quality guidelines, and operating under a moderate degree of supervision with regular review of output by a work lead or supervisor. Complex or unusual problems are referred to the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
  • Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle
  • Comfortable driving in all weather conditions during day or night hours
  • Ability to sit, stand, be mobile and operate a vehicle for extended periods of time
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work weekends or be in a weekend rotation
  • Ability to work holidays or be in a holiday rotation
  • Ability to work on call or be in an on call rotation
  • Flexibility to work various days, schedules, hours or overtime as needed
  • Ability to use computers and tablets
  • Ability to manage up to 75 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience
  • Prior delivery driving experience a plus
  • Past driver dispatching experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Packages radiopharmaceutical medication for shipment, performs testing, and loads/unloads containers
  • Assigns delivery routes to drivers and makes adjustments as needed
  • Performs quality control checks as trained
  • Processes incoming packages for pharmacy use
  • Performs equipment checks for daily use
  • Prepares and makes deliveries to customer accounts on assigned route using a company vehicle (non-cdl)
  • Uses a handheld tablet to scan customer orders for accuracy, obtain route stop information and navigation
  • Processes packages returned from customer locations
  • Maintains vehicles in proper working condition and may perform minor roadside repairs
  • Performs general facility cleaning and other duties as required
