Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a dispatch or supervisory role, preferably in a fast-paced logistics or transportation environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and time-management skills.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Customer-focused with high attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
  • Ability to lead by example and take a hands-on approach to daily operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and dispatch/transportation software.
  • All airport-related positions require applicants to successfully complete the mandatory airport security clearance process for their assigned location. This includes meeting all TSA and U.S. Customs requirements, as outlined in 49 CFR §1542.209, and obtaining the appropriate airport-issued identification badge (e.g., SIDA, AOA, or equivalent), in accordance with local airport authority regulations.
  • Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Airline catering or aviation logistics experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead daily dispatch operations, ensuring efficient and smooth communication and coordination with airline clients, flight operations, and dispatch teams.
  • Plan, schedule, and communicate transportation activities to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services while meeting operational requirements.
  • Monitor and track aircraft arrival and departure schedules, addressing operational updates to ensure the accurate and efficient loading and unloading of aircraft.
  • Address operational issues in real-time and ensure accurate completion and submission of daily reports, such as the Pulse Report and End of Shift Report.
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of dispatchers, drivers, and driver assistants, including managing schedules, documentation, and performance.
  • Manage dispatcher scheduling, shift coverage, and task assignments.
  • Train and onboard new dispatchers in the use of internal systems such as O2P.
  • Ensure dispatchers are fully trained in specialized areas including Key Account Catering, CBP waste procedures, VIP charter operations, and special event logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and all applicable transportation and airport regulations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for receiving critical operational updates from airline clients and airports, disseminating information effectively to relevant departments.
  • Oversee the maintenance and readiness of the transportation fleet, including compliance checks, fueling, and servicing.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze operational reports, maintaining up-to-date transportation databases to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Enforce workplace safety standards and effectively communicate organizational policies, procedures, and regulations to team members and stakeholders.
  • Communicate department policies and legal requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Update transportation databases and generate operational reports.
  • Escalate issues to management and the food safety team as needed.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management to support overall operational objectives.
