About The Position

Responsible for dispatching Officers to calls, distributing information, logging events, and operating non-gaming surveillance equipment. This role involves coordinating responses to calls and emergency situations, facilitating information flow through daily shift pass downs, and ensuring proper notifications during emergencies. The Dispatch Officer is also responsible for entering accurate data into computer-aided dispatching systems (CAD), developing reports from various reporting systems, conducting video reviews, investigating incidents, and maintaining a working knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. Additionally, the officer assists Public Safety Officers as directed and performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Ability to type 30 words per minute.
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with various computer applications.
  • Ability to learn new computer software.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to read electronic display panels on devices such as radios, cellular telephones, alarm systems, public address systems, etc.
  • Must be familiar with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations governing the Casino.
  • Must be familiar with Public Safety Department Policies and Procedures and have passed the training program within the introductory period.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Public Safety Officer duties.
  • Must be able to keep up with fast-paced atmosphere and work under pressure.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, understand and retain information communicated via radio, email, telephone, or in person.
  • Must be able to communicate using fixed or portable 2-way radios, land line, or cellular telephone.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
  • Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.

Responsibilities
